66-YEAR-OLD WOMAN SENTENCED TO 35 YEARS TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR SHOOTING-MURDER OF FAMILY MEMBER OUTSIDE BREA HOME

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A 66-year-old woman was sentenced today to 35 years to life in prison for the shooting-murder of a family member outside a Brea home.

Pleaded guilty on Oct. 22, 2018, to the following felony count:

  • Murder

 

Sentencing Enhancement:

  • Personal use of a firearm

35 years to life in state prison

Circumstances of the Case

  • On Jan. 10, 2017, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Bae and several family members were in front of a house in Brea preparing to leave for dinner.
  • The defendant pulled a firearm out of her purse and fired 10 rounds at the victim, 40-year-old Jennifer L. Family members subdued Bae and called 911.
  • Jennifer L. was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead as the result of multiple bullet wounds.
  • Bae was arrested at the home by the Brea Police Department, who investigated this case.
