ANAHEIM FUGITIVE TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR MURDERING MAN DURING BUSTED DRUG
DEAL AFTER BEING ARRESTED IN LAS VEGAS
WESTMINSTER – A wanted Anaheim fugitive who was captured in Las Vegas by law enforcement is scheduled to be arraigned in an Orange County court tomorrow for murdering a man. Johnathan Allen Kincaid, 20, was charged on Sept. 8, 2009, with one felony count of murder and a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. If convicted, Kincaid faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison. The defendant is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for an arraignment tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. in Department W-14 or 15, West Justice Center, Westminster.
On July 29, 2009, Kincaid is accused of meeting Tayroh Deshawn Stinson, 31, Garden Grove, on the 9000 block of Trask Avenue, located east of Magnolia Avenue, in Garden Grove. After getting into a dispute about purchasing narcotics, Kincaid is accused of stabbing Stinson multiple times with a knife. The victim was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his wounds. The defendant is accused of fleeing the crime scene and hiding out in Las Vegas. On Sept. 4, 2009, Kincaid was arrested in Las Vegas by the U.S. Marshals Service on an unrelated warrant. He waived extradition and was transported to Garden Grove where he was arrested today by the Garden Grove Police Department, who investigated this case.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Supervising District Attorney Investigator Ed Berakovich at (714) 347-8492.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Cameron Talley of the Homicide Unit is prosecuting this case.
