ANAHEIM POLICE DETECTIVES SEEK ADDITIONAL POSSIBLE SEX ASSAULT VICTIMS
ANAHEIM, Calif. (November 9, 2022) – Anaheim PD sexual assault detectives have arrested 66-year-old, dance studio owner, and Tustin resident, Richard Hirschl for multiple charges of sexual assault on a minor. The assaults are suspected to have occurred between 2012 and 2017.
Richard Hirschl is the owner-operator of the Anaheim based, “Hirschl School of Dance,” located in the 1000 block of N. Tustin Avenue. Hirschl was identified by a victim, as the suspect in a sexual assault which took place at the dance studio, around 2012. At the time, the victim was about 12 years old. APD detectives identified a second victim who also identified Hirschl as a suspect of sexual assaults which occurred between 2014 and 2017 when that victim was between 11 and 13 years old.
Anaheim PD detectives worked with prosecutors from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office – Sexual Assault Unit to obtain an arrest warrant for Hirschl, for multiple violations of 288(a) PC: Lewd or lascivious acts with a minor.
On Friday, November 4, 2022, Hirschl was taken into custody at the Anaheim PD. Hirschl posted $100,000 bail and was released from the Anaheim City Jail. If convicted, Hirschl faces a potential sentence of 14 years in State Prison.
Anaheim PD detectives and prosecutors believe there may be additional victims of sexual assault by Richard Hirschl, who have not yet come forward. Due to the nature of the investigation, and likelihood of additional victims, detectives are not releasing any details of the assaults.
Any additional victims, or anyone with information related to possible sexual assaults involving Hirschl is urged to call Anaheim PD Sexual Assault Detective L. Cao at 714-765-1679.
