BUENA PARK CITY COUNCILMEMBER-ELECT CHARGED WITH PETTY THEFT FOR STEALING CAMPAIGN SIGNS

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Councilmember-Elect for Buena Park City Council District 1 was charged on Friday with petty theft for stealing campaign signs.

  • One misdemeanor count of petty theft

Six months in county jail

Circumstances of the Case

  • At the time of the crime, Park was a candidate for the Buena Park City Council District 1 seat.
  • On Oct. 19, 2018, the defendant and an unidentified male are accused of stealing approximately 12 campaign signs that read “No Sunny Park, Carpetbagger,” which were paid for and placed around the city by Committee for a Better Buena Park.
  • A witness called the Buena Park Police Department (BPPD), who investigated this case. BPPD located and arrested Park later that day.
