OCDA ISSUES OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING REPORT
SANTA ANA, Calif. – Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) Todd Spitzer released the investigation findings and legal conclusions of the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) non-fatal officer-involved shooting of Carlos Rodriguez. It was determined there was no criminal conduct by responding law enforcement officers from SAPD in relation to this incident.

On Feb. 19, 2016, the OCDA charged Rodriguez in Orange County Superior Court Case # 16CF0455 with one felony count each of attempted murder of a Peace Officer, assault with a semiautomatic firearm on a Peace Officer, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession for sale of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance. On March 5, 2019, a jury convicted Rodriguez of all the charges. The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on April 26, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. in Department N-13, North Justice Center, Fullerton.
