CASE TO BE DISMISSED AGAINST 90-YEAR-OLD RETIRED MEDICAL DOCTOR AFTER DEFENDANT DIED FROM SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND
*Defendant was charged with manslaughter for killing 88-year-old terminally ill wife
SANTA ANA – A criminal case will be dismissed against a 90-year-old retired medical doctor charged with killing his terminally ill wife after the defendant died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Dr. James Clyde Fish, Laguna Woods, was charged Sept. 21, 2009, with one felony count of voluntary manslaughter with a sentencing enhancement for the personal discharge of a firearm.
On Sept. 20, 2009, Fish is accused of shooting and killing his 88-year-old wife. He then shot himself in the head. He remained hospitalized until he died from his injuries at 11:30 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 6, 2009.
