District Attorney Adopts Needy Families for Holidays

SANTA ANA —The District Attorney’s Office will host their second annual Adopt a Family program event at the Lyon St. Parent Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 16.  The program adopts disadvantaged families, identified by local school districts and non-profit agencies, who cannot afford holiday meals or gifts.  This effort is part of the ongoing commitment of the District Attorney’s Office to help improve the quality of life in the communities it serves.

District attorney employee donations will provide 67 families with holiday dinner vouchers, store vouchers and toys for their children.  This event is made possible through the collaboration of the Santa Ana Police Department, CSP Gang Prevention Program and Toys for Tots.

All adopted families are invited to the holiday celebration and will receive their gifts at the event.  The event will feature a clown, a puppeteer, arts and crafts booths, and free face painting.  District Attorney Tony Rackauckas will be in attendance from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to assist in the distribution of the gifts.  Santa Claus will greet children and the District Attorney’s Office will provide photos with him.

The Lyon St. Parent center is located on 801 S. Lyon St. in the city of Santa Ana inside the Village Meadows apartments.
