DISTRICT ATTORNEY SEEKS PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF MAN CHARGED WITH RAPING THREE WOMEN
* The defendant is accused of meeting two of his victims on MySpace
FULLERTON – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying potential additional victims of a Yorba Linda man who is charged with raping three women. Jason Ara Erpinar, 20, is charged with two felony counts of rape by use of drugs, one felony count of forcible rape, and a sentencing enhancement allegation for sexual crimes against multiple victims. If convicted, Erpinar faces a maximum sentence of 45 years to life in state prison. Erpinar is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for pre-trial tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. in Department N-3, North Justice Center, Fullerton. Erpinar is also charged with one felony count of first degree residential burglary and one felony count of receiving stolen property in an unrelated case.
Case # 09NF2881: Sexual Assault Charges
Erpinar is accused of meeting 18-year-old Jane Doe #1 on the social networking website MySpace. He is accused of contacting the victim by phone and email and inviting her to a party in La Habra. At the party on March 7, 2009, Erpinar is accused of taking the victim to a bathroom and raping her while she was prevented from resisting by an intoxicating substance.
On March 26, 2008, Erpinar is accused of inviting 22-year-old Jane Doe #2 to a hotel room after meeting her on MySpace. He is accused of raping Jane Doe #2 in Newport Beach after she was prevented from resisting by an intoxicating substance. Jane Doe #2 woke up the next day with a cracked tooth and scrapes on her face.
During an investigation by the La Habra Police Department, the defendant’s ex-girlfriend, 17-year-old Jane Doe #3, was contacted. Between August 2006 and October 2007, Erpinar is accused of forcibly raping her on several occasions while being physically abusive in their relationship.
Case # 08SF0567: Burglary Charges
On July 6, 2008, Erpinar is accused of going to a party at a friend’s house. After being asked to leave the party, Erpinar is accused of returning to the home and stealing a purse, wallet, computer equipment, and video games. The defendant is accused of then going to a motel in Fullerton, where he was staying, and giving some of the stolen goods to a friend.
