FORMER ANAHEIM POLICE OFFICER CHARGED WITH FALSE IMPRISONMENT AND SEXUAL ASSAULTS UNDER THE COLOR OF AUTHORITY OF A WOMAN HE MET DURING A TRAFFIC STOP
FULLERTON — The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has charged former Anaheim Police Officer Bradley Wagner, 58, of Perris, with forcible oral copulation, oral copulation under the color of authority, and false imprisonment. Wagner was arraigned in the North Justice Center in Fullerton this afternoon. He is being held in Orange County jail on $150,000 in bail and is expected to post the amount. If convicted of all charges, Wagner could receive up to eight years and eight months in state prison.
On November 11, 2005, Wagner was wearing a police uniform, driving a marked police car, and was on duty. Jane Doe, 40, was driving her van on North Kraemer Boulevard and was stopped at La Jolla Avenue in Anaheim at about 1 a.m. She had pumped her gas at an Arco nearby after leaving her work. Wagner is accused of pulling her van over. Doe is an undocumented worker. Doe was unable to produce legal documents or a driver’s license and was afraid of being arrested and deported.
Wagner is accused of fondling Doe on her breasts and touching her vaginal area, demanding sex from Doe instead of turning her over to immigration, and forcing her to give him oral copulation while inside Doe’s van.
Deputy District Attorney Kal Kaliban in the District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting this case. Anyone with evidence about this incident or other incidents should contact: Sergeant Jack Sharkey 714-765-1958 at the Anaheim Police Department.
