Circumstances of the Case
- Between Jan. 3, 2014, and Oct. 31, 2016, Mendoza-Marin is accused of committing lewd acts on Jane Doe, who was 12 years old at the start of these crimes.
- Jane Doe’s father reported these incidents to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), who investigated this case.
- OCSD arrested the defendant on Nov. 23, 2016.
- Mendoza-Marin posted $100,000 bail on Nov. 29, 2016, and failed to appear for his preliminary hearing on Jan. 12, 2018. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
- On Oct. 30, 2018, the United States Marshal Service successfully served the warrant and arrested the defendant in Cerritos.
