GYMNASTICS COACH TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR MOLESTING 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
WESTMINSTER – A gymnastics coach will be arraigned today for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Jason Miguel Meza, 36, Huntington Beach, is charged with five counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14, with an allegation of substantial sexual conduct on a child. If convicted, Meza faces 16 years in prison. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today, October 6, 2006 at 8:30 a.m. in Department W-15, West Justice Center, Westminster.
Between April 1, 2002 and April 9, 2003, Meza, a coach at the Newhope Academy of Gymnastics in Fountain Valley, is accused of molesting Jane Doe while babysitting her in her Garden Grove home by fondling her and engaging in digital penetration and oral copulation.
The Garden Grove Police Department investigated this case.
