HAIDL RECEIVES SIX MONTHS CUSTODY FOR HAVING UNLAWFUL SEX WITH AN UNDERAGE 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL
SANTA ANA – Gregory Scott Haidl, 21, pled no contest today to having unlawful statutory sex with a 16-year-old girl in a Dana Point home. He was convicted of one count of unlawful sexual intercourse and was sentenced to six months in custody, to be served concurrently to the six year sentence he is currently serving for a separate sexual assault case.
To celebrate the mistrial in his sexual assault case, Haidl had a party at his father’s house on June 28, 2004. During the party, Haidl met 16-year-old Jane Doe. Two weeks later, Haidl had unlawful sex with her at a home where she was house-sitting. Sheriff’s deputies responded to complaints from neighbors regarding a dog barking excessively and found Haidl hiding in the bushes of that home.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Mike Fell of the Sexual Assault Unit prosecuted this case.
