HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL AND BAND VOLUNTEER
TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR HAVING UNLAWFUL SEX
WITH FEMALE STUDENT
SANTA ANA – A volunteer with a high school baseball team and band will be arraigned tomorrow on charges of having an unlawful sexual relationship with a female student when she was 14 and 15 years old. Giovanno Jimenez, 24, Santa Ana, is charged with two felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and one felony count of lewd acts on a child. He faces a maximum sentence of five years in state prison if convicted. Jimenez is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. in Department C-57, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana.
Between July 17, 2008, and Aug. 20, 2008, Jimenez is accused of having an unlawful sexual relationship with Jane Doe on multiple occasions when she was 14 and 15 years old at the victim’s house when her parents were not home. Jimenez is accused of meeting the victim at Valley High School in Santa Ana, where Jane Doe was a student, while volunteering with the frosh/soph baseball team and school band. Police began investigating the case after receiving a complaint from a concerned parent.
