HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER ARRAIGNED FOR ILLEGAL SEX ACTS WITH UNDERAGE FEMALE STUDENT
AT SCHOOL AND IN CAR
WESTMINSTER – A 42-year-old male high school teacher was arraigned today for engaging in illegal sexual acts with a 17-year-old female high school student whom he met through work. Christopher John Ontiveros, Huntington Beach, is charged with three felony counts of sexual penetration by foreign object of a minor, one felony count of oral copulation of a minor, one felony count of distributing harmful sexual material to a minor, one felony count of contacting a child with intent to commit sexual penetration, and one misdemeanor count of sexual battery. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison. The defendant is out of custody on $100,000 bail and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Feb. 11, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. in Department W-14, West Justice Center, Westminster.
Ontiveros is a high school history teacher at Oxford Academy in Cypress. The defendant is accused of abusing his position of trust by developing a personal relationship with Jane Doe and making unsolicited sexual advances toward the student. On several occasions between June to September 2009, the defendant is accused of sending the victim numerous sexual text messages and engaging in illegal digital penetration and oral copulation with the victim in the defendant’s classroom and his car. Jane Doe’s mother discovered the texts on her daughter’s cell phone and contacted the police.
