KAISER DOCTOR ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING THREE FEMALE PATIENTS WHILE PRETENDING TO PERFORM ROUTINE EXAMS
ANAHEIM – A doctor was arrested Friday for sexually assaulting three female patients by touching their breasts and vaginas under the guise of performing routine medical exams. David Hung Do, 38, Riverside, is charged with three felony counts of sexual battery by fraud and faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison if convicted. Do is out of custody on $100,000 bail and will be arraigned at the North Justice Center in Fullerton. The date and time are to be determined.
Do was a general practitioner at Kaiser Permanente in La Palma and Anaheim. Between July 2007 and June 2008, Do is accused of sexually assaulting three women, ages 28 to 46 years old, at Kaiser hospitals and urgent care facilities. He is accused of abusing his position of trust by molesting the victims under the false pretense of performing routine medical exams. Do is accused of touching the victims’ breasts and vaginas under their clothing. The sexual touching was unnecessary and unrelated to the medical treatment needed by the women.
Two victims, Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2, who do not know each other, complained about the sexual assault to Kaiser. Kaiser contacted the Anaheim Police Department (APD). An investigation by APD located an additional victim, Jane Doe #3. Charges were filed Oct. 30, 2008, by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and APD arrested Do on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at his Garden Grove home.
Anyone with additional information or who believes they have been a victim is encouraged to contact Anaheim Police Detective Brian Hayes at (714)765-1929 or Supervising District Attorney Investigator Ed Berakovich at (714) 834-7538. A photo of the defendant is available upon request.
