LAKE FOREST KARATE INSTRUCTOR SENTENCED
TO JAIL FOR INDECENT EXPOSURE
NEAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

NEWPORT BEACH – A Lake Forest karate instructor was sentenced today to 120 days in jail, three years of formal probation, and sex offender registration for exposing his penis to a mother and her baby near an elementary school. Amonullah Sakhi, 26, Lake Forest, pleaded guilty to a court offer to one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., on Sept. 11, 2009, Sakhi, who lived less than a mile from the Olivewood Elementary School in Lake Forest, was standing in the doorway of his home. A woman caring her baby was walking from her house to the elementary school to visit her daughter for lunch, and as she passed his house Sakhi pulled down his jogging pants and started to masturbate.

Once the mother arrived at the school, she told a volunteer community liaison what had happened. On Oct. 7, 2009, Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Sakhi at his karate studio.

Deputy District Attorney Anna McIntire prosecuted this case.
