LAW ENFORCEMENT SEEKING POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF WATER POLO COACH ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING UNDERAGE FEMALE PLAYERS IN LOS ALAMITOS

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Law enforcement is seeking potential additional victims of a water polo coach who was arraigned today for sexually assaulting underage female players during practice sessions in Los Alamitos.

Felony

  • (4) Lewd act upon a child
  • (4) Sexual penetration of a minor with foreign object
  • Lewd act upon a child under 14

Misdemeanor

  • (7) Child annoyance
  • (6) Sexual battery
13 years and four months in state prison, plus 10 years county jail Pre-trial hearing

Circumstances of the Case

  • At the time of the crime, Hojreh was employed at the International Water Polo Club in Los Alamitos as a club water polo coach.
  • Between September 2014 and January 2018, the defendant is accused of sexually assaulting seven underage female water polo players during one-on-one coaching sessions, including touching their breasts and genitals, digitally penetrating victims, and coercing them to touch his genital area. Four of the victims were 15 years old or younger.
  • Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 reported the assaults to their parents, who reported the incidents to Child Protective Services (CPS). CPS contacted the Los Alamitos Police Department (LAPD), who investigated this case.
  • LAPD identified five additional victims.
