LAW ENFORCEMENT SEEKS POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF CHURCH VOLUNTEER CHARGED WITH MOLESTING PARISHIONER GIRL

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) are seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a church volunteer charged with molesting a young child who attended the church. Ryan Joseph Seider, 18, Lake Forest, was charged today with one felony count of lewd act upon a child under 14. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of eight years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. He is out of custody on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 23, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in Department, H-1, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.

On Aug. 22, 2015, the defendant is accused of volunteering at St. Killian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo and supervising a group of children. He is accused of playing with Jane Doe, who was under 10 years old, until he was alone with her. The defendant is accused of having Jane Doe sit on his lap and committing a lewd act upon the victim. The victim reported the crime to her family who then contacted OCSD. OCSD investigated this case.
