LAW ENFORCEMENT SEEKS POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF MAN CHARGED WITH SODOMIZING AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TWO BOYS UNDER 14 YEARS OLD
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) are seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a man charged with sexually assaulting two boys under 14 years old. Uriel Ruiz Ricardez, 24, San Clemente, was charged Friday with three felony counts of sodomy of a person under 14, five felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, with a sentencing enhancement allegation for committing lewd acts upon multiple victims. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 120 years to life in state prison. He is being held on $1 million and is scheduled for pre-trial on Sept. 21, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in Department H-1, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.
Ricardez is accused of being a family acquaintance to the victims involved in this case. Between Jan. 1, 2015, and July 31, 2015, Ricardez is accused of committing lewd acts upon two boys under 14 years old. He is accused of sodomizing John Doe 1 on two occasions and sodomizing John Doe 2 on one occasion. The victims’ parents reported the crime to OCSD, who investigated this case and arrested the defendant on Sept. 10, 2015.
The investigation in this case is ongoing and no further information will be disclosed at this time.
