MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING AND ENGAGING IN HUMAN TRAFFICKING OF A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL
FULLERTON – A man was charged and arraigned today for sexually assaulting and pimping a 15-year-old girl who ran away from home. Italo Rajot Boone, 34, Oakland, is charged with two felony counts of lewd acts upon a child and one felony count each of pimping a minor, pandering with a minor under 16 years old by procuring the victim, procuring a child for a lewd act, human trafficking, and one misdemeanor count of resisting and obstructing an officer. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years and four months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. The defendant is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing March 8, 2012, in Department N-3, North Justice Center, Fullerton.
Boone is accused of meeting 15-year-old Jane Doe at a San Jose Bus Depot sometime this month. On Feb. 25, 2012, the defendant is accused of buying Jane Doe a bus ticket and bringing her down to Anaheim. Boone is accused of having oral sex and sexual intercourse with the victim, knowing she was a minor.
On Feb. 27, 2012, Anaheim Police Department (APD) was contacted by San Jose Police Department about runaway 15-year-old Jane Doe. After locating Jane Doe through an Internet listing, an Anaheim officer posing as a client contacted the listing. Boone is accused of setting up a meeting with the “client” and Jane Doe, knowing she was under the age of 16, with the intent to engage her to perform sex for money. The APD found the victim at an Anaheim hotel. Boone is accused of answering the door to the hotel where Jane Doe was, spotting the officers, and fleeing the scene. The defendant was later captured by an Anaheim K-9 officer and taken into custody.
Boone is accused of procuring the minor on multiple occasions to perform sex for money and keeping the money she made.
If convicted, Boone’s lifetime registration as a sex offender would bar him from entering County recreational areas and City parks which have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance.
