MAN FACES CHARGES FOR STRANGLING AND MURDERING HIS MOTHER IN HER LEISURE WORLD HOME
SANTA ANA – A man will be in court to face murder charges tomorrow for killing his 82-year-old mother in her Laguna Woods home. Ethan Rosenfeld, 48, unemployed, is currently being held without bail and faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, October 27, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Department C-5, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana.
On May 30, 2005, Rosenfeld is accused of choking his mother, Helen, to death in her leisure world home in Laguna Woods. He is accused of strangling her and then calling the paramedics and representing to them that his mother had passed away. The paramedics found Ms. Rosenfeld on her bed wrapped tightly in a sheet with her arms crossed across her chest.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Ebrahim Baytieh of the Homicide Unit is prosecuting this case.
