MAN ON MOTORCYCLE SENTENCED FOR EVADING DEPUTY BY RECKLESSLY RUNNING RED LIGHTS AT 100 MPH

SANTA ANA – A man has been convicted and sentenced for recklessly driving 100 mph, including running through red lights, on his motorcycle in an effort to evade a pursuing Orange County Sheriff’s deputy. This case resulted in a non-fatal officer-involved shooting.

 

Dennis Mitchell Mueller, 21, Rancho Santa Margarita, pleaded guilty to one felony count of evading while driving recklessly. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and three years of formal probation.

 

Senior Deputy District Attorney Chris Duff of the Special Prosecutions Unit prosecuted this case.

 

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is investigating the officer-involved shooting incident at this location involving this defendant. At the end of the investigation, the OCDA will release a full factual detailed report regarding this incident. It is the policy of the OCDA office to not release further details at this time.
