SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man was sentenced 16 years to life in state prison today for the stabbing-murder of a man he met on Craigslist.

Found guilty by a jury on March 21, 2018, of:

  • One felony count of second degree murder

 Circumstances of the Case

  • In the early morning hours of April 29, 2014, Ingala-Whiting responded to a Craigslist advertisement posted by the victim soliciting a sexual encounter.
  • The defendant met 47-year-old Francesco Bonomolo at his home in Mission Viejo.
  • Ingala-Whiting murdered Bonomolo by stabbing him multiple times while in the victim’s home.
  • On May 4, 2014, an acquaintance went to Bonomolo’s home and discovered the victim’s body.
  • The Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigated this case and arrested Ingala-Whiting in San Diego County on May 12, 2014.
