Page is a human trafficker/pimp who exploits women and/or children for financial gain. Pimps often establish rigid rules that their victims are expected to follow including requiring victims to speak only when spoken to, address the pimp as “Sir” or “Daddy,” assigning seats in the car based on “rank,” and setting daily quotas the victims are expected to fulfill. The victims are required to turn over all payment they receive for sex acts from sex purchasers to their pimp. Failure to follow these rules can result in deprivation of food and/or physical and/or emotional abuse.
Circumstances of the Case
- Between May 24, 2017, and May 31, 2017, the defendant pimped and pandered Jane Doe in areas known for human trafficking prostitution in Orange County.
- Page posted explicit advertisements of Jane Doe on websites known for prostitution and communicated with sex purchasers to arrange “dates” for the victim to perform commercial sex acts for the defendant’s financial benefit.
- On May 30, 2017, members of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF) located an advertisement online soliciting prostitution featuring Jane Doe, who appeared to be a minor.
- On May 31, 2017, OCHTTF investigators arranged a meeting with Jane Doe at Motel 6 in Garden Grove.
- The defendant exited the room Jane Doe was occupying and drove to an adjacent strip mall during the victim’s meeting with undercover detectives from Anaheim Police Department (APD).
- When contacted by APD officers, Page possessed $471 in cash and several prepaid credit cards.
- APD officers arrested the defendant near the motel.
Members of the OCHTTF and the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Office work proactively to protect women and minors from falling victim to commercial sexual exploitation. This case was investigated by APD and OCHTTF, a partnership between Anaheim Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Costa Mesa Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Irvine Police Department, Newport Beach Police Department, OCDA, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Ana Police Department, and community and non-profit partners.
