MAN SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN PRISON
AND SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION FOR
PIMPING RUNAWAY 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL
FULLERTON – A man was convicted today of pimping a 15-year-old girl to an undercover police officer after the victim ran away from home. Italo Rajot Boone, 34, Oakland, pleaded guilty to one felony count of pandering with a minor under 16 years old and was sentenced to six years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration.
In February 2012, Boone met 15-year-old Jane Doe at a San Jose Bus Depot. On Feb. 25, 2012, the defendant bought Jane Doe a bus ticket and brought her down to Anaheim. On multiple occasions, Boone pandered the minor victim in order to keep the money she was paid in exchange for sex acts.
On Feb. 27, 2012, the Anaheim Police Department (APD) was contacted by the San Jose Police Department about a 15-year-old runaway, Jane Doe, who had been traced through an Internet listing to Orange County. An APD officer posing as a client contacted the listing and Boone set up a meeting at a hotel with the “client” and Jane Doe with the intent to have the underage victim engage in sex acts for money.
When APD arrived at the hotel, Boone answered the door to the hotel room and then fled the scene upon seeing the officers. The defendant was later arrested after being located by an Anaheim K-9 unit.
Boone’s lifetime registration as a sex offender bars him from entering County recreational areas and City parks which have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance. Deputy District Attorney Mark Birney of the Sexual Assault Unit prosecuted this case.
