MAN TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR ILLEGALLY POSSESSING ECSTASY AND THOUSANDS OF STEROIDS

FULLERTON – A man will be arraigned today for illegally possessing Ecstasy powder from Canada and thousands of steroid pills. Cody Horn, 29, Yorba Linda, is charged with one felony count each of possession for sale of Ecstasy, sale of a controlled substance, possession for sale of a controlled substance, and a sentencing enhancement for possessing over one kilogram of Ecstasy. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison. Horn is currently out of custody on $500,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Department N-3, North Justice Center, Fullerton. The time is to be determined.
Troy Olson, 44, Norco, is charged with one felony count of possession for sale of a controlled substance with a sentencing enhancement for being personally armed with a firearm during a health and safety code violation. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of eight years in state prison. Olson is currently out of custody on $50,000 bail and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Oct. 11, 2012, at 8:00 a.m. in Department N-12. (Case # 12NF2828)
At approximately 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2012, Horn is accused of picking up a package containing over two pounds of Ecstasy from a private shipping facility in Yorba Linda. Horn is accused of walking back to the parking lot and dropping off the package in his pickup truck and grabbing a bag containing approximately 2,500 steroid pills from the passenger side of his truck.
Olson is accused of driving into the parking lot in his car. Horn is accused of approaching Olson’s car with the bag of steroids and dropping it through the passenger side window of Olson’s vehicle.
As the exchange was being made, special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) and La Habra Police Department (LHPD) investigators, who had been monitoring the package, arrested both defendants.
At his home, Olson is accused of possessing approximately 10,000 steroid dosages, which included pills and vials. Olson is accused of possessing five firearms, three of which were loaded.
The investigation by HSI and LHPD is ongoing.
Deputy District Attorney Ben Masangkay of the Major Narcotics Unit is prosecuting this case.
