MAN TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR RAPING AND IMPREGNATING A 13-YEAR-OLD RELATIVE
WESTMINSTER – A man will be in court tomorrow on charges that he raped and impregnated a 13-year-old relative. Francisco Jardon Richardo, 38, Garden Grove, is charged with felony aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14, felony lewd acts upon a child under 14 causing great bodily injury, felony incest, and an allegation for substantial sexual conduct on a child under 14. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. in Department W-15, West Justice Center, Westminster.
Between February 27, 2007 and March 2, 2007, Richardo is accused of raping Jane Doe. He is accused of instructing the victim, who was a virgin, not to tell anyone about the assault. In April, Jane Doe was taken to a medical clinic because she was suffering from nausea and stomach problems. While at the clinic, doctors determined that the victim was 2-months pregnant.
Deputy District Attorney Kal Kaliban of the Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting this case.
