SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man is scheduled to be arraigned today for stabbing three U.S. Marines outside of a bar in San Clemente.

Circumstances of the Case

  • On Aug. 4, 2018, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Moreno Aguirre is accused of engaging in an altercation with three Marines in the parking lot of a bar on El Camino Real in San Clemente.
  • The defendant is accused of using a knife to stab the victims. John Doe 1 received injuries to his abdomen, John Doe 2 sustained lacerations on his abdomen and throat, and John Doe 3’s abdomen and shoulder were injured.
  • Moreno Aguirre is accused of fleeing the scene and witnesses called 911. The victims were transported to local hospitals and survived the assault.
  • Later that morning, the defendant is accused of going to a hospital in Laguna Beach to treat injuries sustained during the incident.
  • The Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigated this case and arrested Moreno Aguirre at the hospital.
