MAN TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR TOUCHING 8-YEAR-OLD BOY’S PENIS AND MASTURBATING IN FRONT OF THE VICTIM
SANTA ANA – A man is scheduled to be arraigned today for touching an 8-year-old boy’s penis and taking off his pants and masturbating in front of the victim. Pedro Castillo-Sanchez, 34, Santa Ana, is charged with one felony count of lewd acts on a child under 14 with a sentencing enhancement allegation of substantial sexual conduct with a child. If convicted, Castillo-Sanchez faces a maximum sentence of eight years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex registration. He is being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today, March 21, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana.
At the time of the incident, the defendant is accused of knowing John Doe and his mother.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. on March 19, 2012, Castillo-Sanchez is accused of driving John Doe to a Jack-in-the-Box in Santa Ana and parking the vehicle in the restaurant parking lot. Castillo-Sanchez is accused of telling the child to take his pants off, but the boy refused. The defendant is accused of forcing the boy’s pants down and touching the victim’s penis. The defendant is then accused of taking off his own pants, putting on a condom, and masturbating in front of the child.
When the victim got home, he told his mother about the assault. Castillo-Sanchez is accused of getting into an argument with the boy’s mother and fleeing the home. Santa Ana police officers found Castillo-Sanchez at a nearby residence and arrested him that same night.
If convicted, Castillo-Sanchez’s lifetime registration as a sex offender would bar him from entering County recreational areas and City parks which have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance.
