MEDIA ADVISORY
WHO: Carlos Jose Melendez, 32, of Irvine
WHAT: Ball Junior High School teacher charged with multiple felony counts of lewd act upon a child and oral copulation of a minor under the age of 16. He is also charged with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor. According to the felony complaint, the sexual assaults of a 14-year old female student at the school occurred between January and May of this year. Deputy District Attorney Joseph Dane in the Sexual Assault unit has been assigned to prosecute the case.
