WHAT: Was resentenced today under Proposition 36 by the Honorable W. Michael Hayes over the objection of the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Office. Gonzalez is scheduled to be released today from Correctional Training Facility, Soledad.

Criminal Background of Gonzalez
In 1975, Gonzalez was convicted of one misdemeanor count of assault on a police officer and sentenced to 15 days in jail. In 1975, Gonzalez was convicted of one misdemeanor count of assault and sentenced to 20 days in jail.
In 1978, Gonzalez was convicted of one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence. In 1979, Gonzalez was convicted of one count of being under the influence of a controlled substance and sentenced to 100 days in jail.
In 1980, Gonzalez was convicted of one count of petty theft and sentenced to four days in jail.
