WHO: Inmate Daniel Eric Rasmusson, 58

 

WHAT: Was resentenced yesterday, Jan. 29, 2013, under Proposition 36 by the Honorable James A. Stotler over the objection of the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Office. Rasmusson was scheduled to be released yesterday from California Men’s Colony, San Luis Obispo.

 

Criminal Background Submitted for Court Consideration

On April 9, 1973, Rasmusson was convicted of one count of unlawful taking of a vehicle in Los Angeles County and sentenced to 15 days in jail and one year of probation.

 

On May 23, 1973, Rasmusson was convicted of one felony count of unlawful taking of a vehicle in Los Angeles County and sentenced to three years of formal probation and 60 days in jail.

 

On Oct. 30, 1973, Rasmusson was convicted of one felony count of unlawful taking of a vehicle in San Diego County and sentenced to 90 days in a correctional facility for diagnostic treatment.

 

On May 27, 1977, Rasmusson was convicted of one felony count of second degree burglary in Los Angeles County and sentenced to one year in jail and three years of formal probation.

 

On Nov. 29, 1978, Rasmusson was convicted of three felony counts of second degree burglary in Los Angeles County and sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison.

 

On Feb. 1, 1979, while serving his prison sentence for crimes committed prior to being incarcerated, Rasmusson was convicted of one felony count of second degree burglary and two felony counts of first degree burglary in Los Angeles County and sentenced to seven years in state prison. Eight days later, Feb. 9, 1979, while serving his prison sentence for crimes committed prior to being incarcerated, Rasmusson pleaded guilty to one felony count of first degree burglary and five felony counts of second degree burglary in Los Angeles County and was sentenced two years in state prison concurrent to his current prison sentence.
