WHO: John Mordecai Scott, 58, Lake Forest
WHAT: Will be arraigned today for lewd and lascivious conduct against four child victims while working as their piano instructor. Scott is charged with molesting and/or taking lewd photographs of his victims at his residence and piano studios. He is currently being held on $500,000 bail.
Scott is charged with one felony count of continuous sexual abuse, four felony counts of a lewd act upon a child under 14, two felony counts of distributing pornography to a minor, one felony count of using a minor for sex acts, one felony count of possession and control of child pornography, four felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, and one misdemeanor count of child annoyance. He faces a sentencing enhancement for obscene matter used during a sexual offense. If convicted, Scott faces a maximum sentence of 30 years and four months in custody.

Deputy District Attorney Vanessa Woods of the Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting this case.
