WHO: Joseph Elija Ettima, 30
WHAT: Will be in court for the sanity phase of his trial after being convicted of murdering his grandmother and setting her house on fire while his 8-year-old brother and 3-year-old niece were inside the home. Ettima faces a maximum sentence of 27 years and eight months to life in state prison if the jury finds he was legally sane at the time of the murder. A previous press release incorrectly stated Ettima faced a sentence of life in state prison without the possibility of parole if convicted.
