WHO: Joshua Charles Acosta, 21, Fort Irwin, and Frank Sato Felix, 25, Sun Valley
WHAT: Were each charged today with three felony counts of special circumstances murder for committing multiple murders. Acosta is also charged with sentencing enhancements for the personal discharge of a firearm causing death. If convicted, they face a minimum sentence of life in state prison without the possibility of parole. The defendants are ineligible for bail.
In the early morning hours of Sept. 24, 2016, Acosta and Felix are accused of entering the Fullerton home of 39-year-old Jennifer Goodwill-Yost and her husband 34-year-old Christopher Yost, and murdering them as well as the victims’ friend, 28-year-old Arthur William Boucher. Acosta is accused shooting and murdering the three victims with a firearm.
The Fullerton Police Department investigated this case. The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be disclosed at this time.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Troy Pino of the Homicide Unit is prosecuting this case.
