MEDIA ADVISORY
WHAT: The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is incorporating a new social media policy.
On Feb. 23, 2018, the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Southern California (ACLU) sent a letter to the OCDA regarding the Office’s use of social media and requested a response by March 9, 2018. The OCDA researched the law relating to social media, determined the ACLU brought forward a valid point, and today responded with this letter.
WHERE: The new social media policy, titled “OCDA Social Media Terms of Use,” is available at www.orangecountyda.org by selecting Reports under the Reports pull-down menu. “Response Letter to the ACLU” is available by selecting Letters under the Reports menu. A link to the policy is also in the “About” section or “Bio” of each OCDA social media platform.
WHEN: Today, Mar. 1, 2018
