WHO: Manuel Anthony Ramos, 39, and Jay Patrick Cicinelli, 41
WHAT: Appeared in court this morning for Cicinelli’s motion to sever hearing in the criminal case for their participation in the beating-death of a homeless man, Kelly Thomas. The severance motion was denied by the Honorable William R. Froeberg. A pre-trial was set for Ramos and Cicinelli, who will appear in Department C-40, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana, for their hearing on Aug. 30, 2013. A jury trial was set for Oct. 18, 2013.
