CORRECTION: A press release issued Sept. 16, 2011, by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office incorrectly stated that registered sex offender Saeid Boustanabadi Maralan, 53, Laguna Niguel, was prohibited from entering Irvine City parks without prior permission from the Irvine Police Department. Maralan is allowed to enter Irvine City parks because its ordinance does not exclude sex offenders whose prior offense was not against a child victim.
Maralan was charged Sept. 16, 2011, with sexually assaulting an additional four women in a Laguna Beach rug store after they came forward as a result of media coverage of four prior sexual assaults.
