MISSION VIEJO TEACHER TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH THREE FEMALE VICTIMS

LAGUNA NIGUEL – A Mission Viejo Christian School teacher is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow for engaging in sexual contact and conversations with three children.  Armando Lucero, 26, of Lake Forest, is charged with three counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 15 and two counts of child annoyance for having sexual relationships with three female victims.  If convicted, he faces four years and four months in prison.  Lucero is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, August 2, 2006, at 8:30 a.m. in department S2, Harbor Justice Center, Laguna Niguel.

Lucero was an athletic coordinator at Mission Viejo Christian School, and is married with a child.  He is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student, Jane Doe #1, over the course of one year from April 2005 to June 2006.  He is also accused of sending her text messages, e-mails, and MySpace messages that were sexual in nature, as well as giving her gifts.

Lucero is also accused of sending annoying sexual text messages to Jane Doe #2, a minor he met while working at an athletic summer camp, as well as kissing Jane Doe #3, another girl he met during a summer camp.

Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Walker of the Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting this case.  Anyone with additional information should contact District Attorney Investigator Dan Weiss at (714) 347-8578.
