OCDA ADOPTS 104 CHILDREN FROM 41 FAMILIES IN 20TH ANNUAL ADOPT-A-FAMILY HOLIDAY CELEBRATION
SANTA ANA, Calif. – Over 100 children from 41 families will celebrate the holidays this weekend at the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) 20th annual Adopt-A-Family holiday celebration event. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Community Center in Newport Beach.
OCDA staff, affiliates, friends, and family have adopted 104 children from 41 families who were identified as needing assistance during this holiday season by the non-profit Community Center of Costa Mesa. Each child will receive donated gifts and toys and their families will be provided with grocery gift certificates for a holiday dinner.
All of the adopted families are invited to attend a holiday celebration that will include arts and crafts activities, baked goods, a photo opportunity with Santa Claus, and distribution of the gifts to the children. Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions, discuss the criminal justice system, and disseminate bilingual resource booklets. This holiday event is part of the OCDA’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in the Orange County communities it serves.
The address for the event is 307 Placentia Avenue, Newport Beach, CA 92663. Media interested in attending the event may contact OCDA Spokesperson Michelle Van Der Linden at 714-347-8405 or text 714-323-4486 to RSVP.
