OCDA AND FPD SEEKING THE PUBLIC’S HELP IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF MAN CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING WOMAN OUTSIDE FULLERTON NIGHTCLUB
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) and Fullerton Police Department (FPD) are seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a man charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman outside of a Fullerton nightclub. Nelson Mauricio Lunaty Garcia, 32, Chino Hills, is charged with one felony count of kidnapping to commit a sexual offense, one felony count of forcible oral copulation, one felony count of sexual penetration by a foreign object and force, and one felony count of sodomy by force. If convicted, Garcia currently faces a maximum sentence of 31 years to life in state prison. Garcia is being held on $1 million bail. His scheduled arraignment was continued in court today to Oct. 2, 2015, in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. The time is to be determined.
On the night of Sept. 2, 2015, Garcia is accused of approaching Jane Doe in the parking lot of the InCahoots nightclub in Fullerton. The defendant is accused of forcing the victim into the backseat of his vehicle in a way that lead the victim to believe he was a peace officer. Garcia is accused of kidnapping Jane Doe by binding the victim’s hands together to prevent her from escaping the car and driving for several miles. The defendant is accused of driving to a secluded location and sexually assaulting the victim, including but not limited to forcing the victim to orally copulate him, digitally penetrating, and sodomizing the victim. Garcia is also accused of returning the victim to the InCahoots parking lot.
The victim reported the crime to the club managers, who contacted FPD. FPD investigated this case.
