OCDA REACHES OUT TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AT THE ORANGE COUNTY FAIR

Costa Mesa – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) will be hosting a community information booth at the Orange County Fair on Thursday, July 28 through Saturday, July 30.  The booth is located in the Orange County building near the north entrance to the fair.  OCDA staff members and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions from the public and to disseminate bilingual pamphlets and resource booklets.  The OCDA conducts outreach efforts to educate Orange County residents about the criminal justice system and the role of prosecutors in their community.  Playing on the OC Fair theme, “It’s callin’ you out to play,” the booth will also feature prize drawings, an arts and crafts corner, balloons and informational pamphlets. “I am calling Orange County residents out to plan and to protect themselves from crime,” said Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas.  “The better they are informed, the safer our communities will be.”  This is part of the OCDA’s ongoing effort to prevent crime and inform residents on how to protect themselves from becoming victims.  Information available will include domestic violence, victim/witness resources, consumer fraud, identity theft, elder abuse and home invasion robberies.

The Orange County Fair and Exposition Center is located at 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA, 92626.  Media relations questions about the Orange County Fair should be directed to Lisa MacDonald at 714-708-1559.
