OCDA ROUNDS OUT PLATINUM MUSICAL LINEUP FOR “KEEP CALM AND BEAT H.E.A.T. ROCKING & RALLY”
SANTA ANA – The Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) and Music Director Stan Frazier announced the final musicians (Murphy Karges, Sugar Ray, Lewis Richards, Producer of Dirty Heads, Scott Foster, solo-musician and star of Discovery Channel’s Bering Sea Gold, and Parkaimoon) who have donated their time to round out the musical lineup for the “Keep Calm and Beat H.E.A.T. Rocking & Rally” on Sept. 9, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Twila Reid Park, 3100 West Orange Avenue, Anaheim.
Lewis Richards is the co-writer/producer of Billboard Chart #1 song “Lay Me Down,” which enjoyed the longest stint atop the chart for an independently released title in history. Richards has worked with artists such as Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, The Dirty Heads, Rome, Micah Brown, and music legends, The Police, Sting, and R&B diva Mary J. Blige. Richards is currently working in studio with “Keep Calm and Beat H.E.A.T. Rocking & Rally” featured musician, Foster.
“The reason I reached out to Lewi to play the event was really two-fold. Lewi and I go way back and we have been writing and producing music together for a decade, when we developed the Dirty Heads. He’s also an all-around world class musician who’s really fun to jam with. We recently worked with a new artist named Foster and we all hit it off so we then invited Foster to jam with us. Foster recommended his buddy Damon Tucker, who happened to be playing on the bar circuit back in the early 90’s, when Sugar Ray was playing club gigs so we all sort of knew each other. Combine that with my buddy and bassist from Sugar Ray, Murphy Karges, and I caught myself saying we just accidentally put together a really killer band!” stated Frazier.
Parkaimoon was formed by Tony Howell and now-District Attorney Investigator Damon Tucker in the summer of 1992 and currently includes drummer Dave Goode. The band has released five self-produced records and one concert DVD. Parkaimoon has opened for Berlin, The Fixx, Living Colour, Eric Burdon of The Animals, Tim Finn of Split Enz and Crowded House, The Outfield, The Knack, Eddie Money, The Romantics, Stanley Clarke, Quiet Riot, Missing Persons, Bow Wow Wow, Jason Bonham, Venice, Wild Colonials, C.I.D. (featuring Johnny “Vatos” Hernandez and John Avila from Oingo Boingo), and Jane Wiedlin, Gina Schock and Kathy Valentine of The Go-Go’s.
