SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) is seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a daycare employee who was charged today with sexually assaulting two children at work in Anaheim. Daniel Antonio Martinez, 18, Buena Park, is charged with three felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 and three felony counts of sexual penetration with a child under 10 years old, with sentencing enhancement allegations for multiple victims and substantial sexual contact with a child. He is being held on $1 million bail and faces a maximum sentence of 75 years to life in state prison if convicted. Martinez is scheduled to be arraigned today, Nov. 18, 2016, in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. The time is to be determined.

At the time of the crime, Martinez was employed in a position of trust with access to children at a daycare facility in Anaheim.

Between Aug. 1, 2016, and Nov. 9, 2016, Martinez is accused of sexually assaulting 6-year-old Jane Doe 1 and 7-year-old Jane Doe 2, including touching and penetrating the children’s vaginas.

On Nov. 9, 2016, Jane Doe #1 told a family member she was experiencing pain. Martinez is accused of digitally penetrating the victim earlier that day. The victim’s family member reported the assault to the police. The Anaheim Police Department (APD) identified Jane Doe #2 during their initial investigation.

On Nov. 16, 2016, Martinez was arrested by APD.
