OCEAN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER’S AIDE
CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF SEXUAL
ASSAULTS ON 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
WESTMINSTER – A 24-year-old high school teacher’s aide was charged today with multiple counts of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he met in class. Kristopher Charles Maw, 24, of Huntington Beach, was charged with two felony counts of oral copulation of a minor under the age of 16, two felony counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, and two felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse. If convicted of all charges, Maw faces seven years and four months in state prison. Maw is out of custody on bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 19, 2007, at the West Justice Center in Westminster. There is no further appearance information at this time.
From January to April, 2007, Maw was working as a teacher’s aid at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach. During that time, the defendant is accused of grooming Jane Doe through contacts during and after school, by giving her rides home, and phone calls on a cell phone he provided for her without Doe’s mother’s knowledge. Maw is accused of engaging in oral copulation, digital penetration and sexual intercourse with Jane Doe in his car and in a hotel room.
Anyone with additional information about this case or who has also been a victim of Maw should contact Huntington Beach Police Detective Cathy Meza at 714-536-5970.
