ORANGE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE ADOPTS FAMILIES FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND ASKS THE PUBLIC TO JOIN IN THE GIVING
Santa Ana – The Office of the Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) will host its 5th annual Adopt-a-Family event at the Magnolia Resource Center in Garden Grove from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 20th. The public is invited to join the holiday cheer by dropping off unwrapped toys at the District Attorney’s office located at 401 Civic Center Drive in Santa Ana until December 10th.
Each year, hundreds of OCDA staff donations provide needy families with food and gifts. These families are identified by non-profit agencies. You can support the cause by donating money towards holiday meals or by dropping off a gift for a young child. This effort is part of the on-going commitment of the OCDA to help improve the quality of life of those living in communities that the OCDA serves.
“During the holidays, the gift of giving can warm so many hearts,” said District Attorney Tony Rackauckas. “While my office is committed to protecting the safety of our residents, we can also help enrich their lives by sharing in the true spirit of the holidays.”
All adopted families are invited to attend this special holiday celebration. They will be able to enjoy a fun-filled morning of activities. Santa Claus will be in attendance for the kids, free face painting, an arts and crafts table, balloons and plenty of tasty treats will make this a day to remember. OCDA will also have a resource table with staff on hand to answer questions about the criminal justice system and to inform those in attendance about the various resources available to them through the County of Orange.
This event is made possible through the collaboration of the Magnolia Resource Center, Community Service Program, Gang Prevention, and the U.S. Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” program. The Magnolia Resource Center is located at 11402 Magnolia Avenue in Garden Grove.
