PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARDER TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR HAVING UNLAWFUL SEX WITH 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL

WESTMINSTER – A professional skateboarder will be arraigned tomorrow for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl who had run away from home and was staying at his house. Brian Keith Patch, 36, Westminster, is charged with one felony count of lewd acts on a child and faces a maximum of three years in state prison if convicted. He is out of custody on $45,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. in Department W-15, West Justice Center, Westminster.

On April 11, 2008, Patch is accused of having sexual intercourse with 15-year-old Jane Doe. The defendant, a professional skateboarder, is accused of meeting the victim, also a skateboarder, when she was 12-years-old. Jane Doe ran away from home on April 10, 2008, and Patch is accused of letting the victim sleep at his house and having sexual intercourse with the victim in his room. Jane Doe later told her parents, who contacted the police.

Deputy District Attorney Nicole Nicholson of the Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting this case.
