Riverside Man Charged With Solicitation Of Murder Of A Police Officer

Westminster – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office announces the filing of charges against a Riverside man who works in Westminster for solicitation to commit murder and resisting arrest.  The defendant is a third striker and has a prison prior.

Khai Pham, 29, is accused of asking another person to join him in murdering a police officer on Thursday, October 16, 2003.  Pham expressed his hatred of police officers and his intent to shoot a police officer.  During the arrest, the defendant is accused of physically fighting with the arresting officers.  It took six police officers to arrest the defendant.

Pham appeared in court today and continued his arraignment to November 7, 2003, in department W15 at Westminster Justice Center, 8141 13th Street, Westminster.  If convicted, the defendant faces 26 years to life in state prison.  Pham is being held on a one million dollar bail.
