SANTA ANA JUNIOR HIGH TEACHER ARRAIGNED ON CHILD MOLESTATION CHARGES FOR VICTIMIZING A 7TH GRADE BOY IN 2000

SANTA ANA – A Santa Ana junior high schoolteacher was arraigned today on six counts of felony child molestation charges in Orange County Superior Court.  Lee Henry, 57, of Tustin, could receive 12 years 8 months in state prison.

In 1999, Henry was a teacher at Carr Intermediate School in Santa Ana.  The victim “John Doe” was a 12-year-old, male, 7th grade student in one of defendant’s classes.  Henry is accused of grooming the victim at his home throughout the 2000 school year.   While at his home, the defendant is accused of masturbating and orally copulating Doe.  Henry is accused of engaging in oral copulation and sodomy on Doe when he was ages 16 to 18.

In November of 2005, Doe came forward and reported the incidents to law enforcement.   The defendant was working as a teacher at Middle College High School found on the Santa Ana College Campus when he was arrested on December 7, 2005.

Henry will be back in Orange County Superior Court, Central Justice Center, C-57, on February 3, 2006 for pretrial and February 17, 2006 for preliminary hearing.

Defendant is out of custody on $100,000 bail.

Deputy District Attorney John Christl of the Sexual Assaults Unit is prosecuting this case.
