SANTA ANA – Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas released the following statement:
“A Special Grand Jury was empaneled this morning to investigate the death of John Chamberlain that occurred in Theo Lacy on October 5, 2006. There will be a very thorough investigation of all the circumstances surrounding that death by our office in cooperation with the Special Grand Jury. Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona has informed the Orange County District Attorney’s office that he invites a complete investigation and will give it his full support. In order to uphold the integrity of the investigation, the Orange County District Attorney will not make further public statements releasing additional information until the investigation is complete or as directed by the Grand Jury.”
